I enjoyed making the video and submitting it, but unfortunately it did not advance the first round of the contest, which took the best 200 video submissions. The ending along with the entire 3 minutes of Fasting Circadian is below on YouTube. The ending however, is supposed to change this difference among brothers. In my short film submission, the reason for showing two opposite viewpoints of Ramadan from brothers in the same household was to show how different views often occurs in the same family. Many people who don’t know or understand the purpose of the month Ramadan, may view the month and Muslims observing it differently.

Last year in July, I was observing the month of Ramadan, and thought it would be interesting to make the short film submission set in and about Ramadan. I wanted to submit a short film for this contest, in which the deadline for submissions was the end of July, 2014. I decided to make this short 3 minute film last year, because I discovered about the Project Greenlight short film contest. Instead he does other activities throughout the month such as talking with friends, while playing video games on Xbox.

My character previously observed Ramadan, but then lost faith in it, so he doesn’t fast anymore. Set in my house and Ramadan, my brother’s character performs the fast by waking up to prepare a meal before sunrise, called Suhoor. The characters are played by each of us and it portrays a fictional story of how we each have opposite views about Ramadan. Last year in July, 2014, I created a 3 minute short film video called Fasting Circadian, with the help of my brother.
